MADE state Action leader newsletter

I don't typically toot my own horn but I must admit I was pretty excited when the latest issue of the MADE state action leader newsletter came out and they included information about my article in the current issue of On The Minds of Moms. See for yourself:

Dear MADE State Action Leaders,

Our MADE State Action Leaders, members and local partners have jumped into a new year full of energy, and more committed than ever to increasing support for, and membership to MADE. In this week’s update we wanted to announce our new Facebook fan page and highlight some recent news from our MADE community.

Become a Fan of Love Is Not Abuse and MADE on Facebook

To help capitalize on our growing number of members to the MADE cause page on Facebook, we recently launched a new Love Is Not Abuse and MADE fan page on the social networking Web site. Fans will be able to post messages to the page, suggest their friends become fans, check out photos from events like last year’s It’s Time to Talk Day and find our partner organizations in one place. To become a fan of Love Is Not Abuse and MADE, visit: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=19601915#!/pages/Love-Is-Not-Abuse/113670545317668?ref=ts

Angela Smith, MADE State Action Leader from ND, Writes Teen Dating Violence Article for Local Magazine

Angela Smith, MADE State Action Leader from North Fargo, North Dakota, wrote and submitted an article on teen dating violence for the April/May issue of On the Minds of Moms magazine, a local magazine. In her article, “The Reality of Teen Dating,” Angela cites one of the recent Liz Claiborne surveys that found "one in five teens in serious relationships are suffering some type of abuse by their partners." She also spoke of her own past abusive relationship, and included the warning signs of an abusive relationship, as well as a list of available resources. You can read the article for yourself at her blog The Victims Voices: http://thevictimsvoices.blogspot.com/2010/04/on-minds-of-moms-article-on-teen-dating.html

MADE State Action Leaders, please let us know what you’re doing! Share what you’re doing on the new Love Is Not Abuse Facebook page, on the MADE cause page wall: http://apps.facebook.com/causes/172268 and email us at made@liz.com with your updates!
