Wife and three kids suffered 'traumatic cuts'; police say father shot himself
MIDDLETOWN, Md. - A couple and their three children were found dead inside their home on Saturday in an apparent murder-suicide in northwest Maryland, police said.
Frederick County sheriff’s office spokeswoman Jennifer Bailey said 34-year-old Christopher Alan Wood died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. She said his wife, Francis, 33, and their three children had suffered “traumatic cuts,” but the causes of their deaths was not confirmed.
Two boys, ages 5 and 4, were found in their beds, and the 2-year-old girl was found with the mother in the master bedroom. The father’s body was also in the master bedroom.
Investigators also found a shotgun and other items they believed were used to cut the victims. A note was also found, but authorities haven’t disclosed what the note said.
A relative found the bodies about 9 a.m. Saturday.
Autopsies were scheduled for Sunday.

Why would a husband kill his wife? Why would a father kill his 3 young children?
5,4 and 2 years old?! Their lives that had barely begun snuffed out in another senseless act of domestic violence.
This is the world we live in. 1 in 3 women live in fear that today will be their last day on this earth. Stop! Think about that 1 in 3. That means there are women and children in your state, city, town, neighborhood and even on your street living in fear. That means that it is entirely possible that an article like this one could be written in your local paper. It means you come in contact EVERYDAY with people who fear for their safety and who's fear is inspired by those that they live with and even love.
For this woman and her children that wonder and fear is over b/c their husband and father took it upon himself to take their lives away. They will never see another sunset or fear another sunrise. Please pray for them and their loved ones.
