For some, a tattoo is just a surface adornment. For Mariska Hargitay, star of Law and Order: SVU and Safe Horizon Board Member, it serves as a means for spreading awareness about a cause for which she cares deeply.
Hargitay donned a temporary tattoo as part of Safe Horizon’s efforts to educate millions about the impact of domestic violence and abuse on women, children, and especially teens.
The tattoo is a graphic treatment of the words, “NO DISRESPECT.” Being disrespected by a partner is a sign that a relationship may be abusive.“Wearing this tattoo will help raise awareness by starting conversations about the signs of domestic violence and abuse, especially the less obvious ones.” -- Mariska Hargitay

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month and this is my story of survival....... He was 6’2 and looked like he belonged on the walls of Abercrombie and Fitch with his wavy espresso colored hair, milk chocolate eyes, and rock-hard abs. He was affectionate, funny, smart, quick-witted, and dating me!
